Limited edition of 300. All the inserts are hand printed, but the first 100 have extra artwork and are on special paper, hand-made by Shannon and Lane!
Here are the records:
The covers and inserts are original art by local children’s author and folk musician Joanna Wright. The album features the talents of musicians from bands such as Hosannas, Typhoon, Ah Holly Fam’ly, Firs of Prey, and Viernes. The Ocean Floor will be on tour supporting the record in August, but you'll have a couple of chances to see them before they leave the Northwest, because we are going to be celebrating the release of this really incredible experimental pop record more than once (it's that good, kids).
On the 15th of July we will be having a back-yard BBQ day show in Olympia, featuring:

at 418 Wilson St SE, Olympia, WA.
Bring something to grill, $5 for the touring bands, and some cash for an LP! We will start the grills at 5pm, and bands play at 6pm. It's definately the best possible thing to do before going to What The Heck Fest that weekend.
Then, in Portland on the 24th of July, there will be the official record-release party at The Artistery. The lineup for that show will be:

That show is also All Ages, starts at 8pm and costs just $6.

Here is what Jordan had to say about the new album:
"When electrons share spaces on the outer orbits of atoms, their fates intertwine. These songs are that story. "Carbon Cycles" is a song-cycle outlining the romantic adventures of two individuals who coalesce (in this case, inside of a water molecule), but then are separated (through electron transport chains and molecular recombination). The album finds our electron wanderers repeatedly bumping into one another in various forms, but without full knowledge of each others' existence. Yet, even when separated, once-paired electrons feel a pull of their original alignments. This leaves a traveler with some interior ache and an odd echo of previous form. The first half of the album depicts this longing and desire for realignment. Upon meeting again, under better circumstances, our electronic ingenues recognize each other and rejoice. However, even in this moment of recombination, they know that their paths must again diverge. The second half of the album shows our electrons embracing the impermanence of their interactions, and living with the knowledge that they will align again, in other forms. Bittersweet endings for constant travelers, but perhaps these are thoughtful love songs for long roads." |
